I welcome enquiries from anyone who is seeking healing in their body. I’ve worked with issues including chronic tension from stress and anxiety, muscle injury and recovery from exercise or everyday tensions, IBS, physical and emotional trauma, physical abuse, body image issues, eating disorders or anyone for whom being in their body feels hard. Sometimes clients feel that massage therapy allows them to begin to heal when words are perhaps too difficult or can be a great way to process feelings that come up during or after talking therapy.
I have created a safe, non-judgmental clinic environment where you can experience whatever is going on for you. We will work to relieve tension where it occurs for you and to build in to your routine new ways of moving that can help long term healing. You can experience a series of gentle holds, stretches, deep tissue strokes and joint mobilisations – each treatment will vary in technique depending on your body and what feels ok for you at any given time. I will encourage you to listen to your own body to develop awareness and grounding to enable you to meet each moment anew.
We experience our felt sense through our bodies – every emotion is felt as sensation. Some are pleasant and some are deeply uncomfortable but they continue to flow and change. Problems arise when we get stuck in a pattern of behavior. Problems also arise when we resist or suppress feelings and sensations. Often this can become painful and letting go can be really difficult. This treatment will help align you with your body to allow the natural healing process to proceed with greater ease.
The number of treatments will vary from person to person but I tend to recommend 3 treatments and then review.
