
My teaching is informed by Pilates Foundation method which is thorough in terms of knowledge and training.
I use a range of small equipment and bodyweight exercises and aim to add variations and progressions to suit different bodies to build strength, balance, co-ordination and stability.
I‘m equally interested therapeutic body work - how we are with our bodies and how we meet the world around us. So I bring presence and awareness building into my teaching. As we become more present we encounter where we get stuck - we might notice a repeating pattern of tension or hear a critical inner voice and then we have the opportunity to bring compassion and maybe free up more playfulness, curiosity and connection. The breath is really helpful on-going tool to becoming more embodied in and outwith classes as it is instantly accessible anywhere so we practise tuning into our breathing and not making it a serious exercise!
